Why Miley Cyrus' Mom Tish Was "Emotional for 2 Days" After the Grammys
The former Voice Coach performed her hit "Flowers" at the 2024 ceremony in February.
Tish Cyrus-Purcell couldn't be prouder.
The manager, who is mom to star Miley Cyrus, recently opened up about seeing her daughter command the stage at the 2024 Grammys. From her perspective, the former Voice Coach's (Seasons 11 and 13) performance of "Flowers" was even more impressive than we thought.

Dressed in a Tina Turner-esque body suit and super-high hair, Cyrus performed her hit song "Flowers," with a few special changes. From the stage, she celebrated winning her first Grammy earlier that night, and reminded the audience that they could sing along. And Tish loved it.
"I was so glad she did that because you know how it is at a lot of L.A. [events]: It's like you're too cool for school to get up, and you know, you want to get up and dance. So, I was so glad she called it out," Tish told rapper Wiz Khalifa during a discussion for Sorry We're Stoned, the podcast she hosts with daughter Brandi.

Tish continued to praise her daughter, saying, "It's not because she won the Grammys, I think it is truly how she made people feel in the room. It was completely just Miley. Honestly, Miley blows everything off, like it's no biggie. I literally was emotional for like two days because the feeling in the rooms at those things can be so weird, but in that moment when Miley was on stage, the room felt like one."
Khalifa agreed, giving Tish credit for her daughter's confidence. "That confidence, like, it comes out, too. How she got on stage and was like 'Oh, y'all gonna act like y'all don't know that song?' Somebody who wasn't confident wouldn't be able to do that. But she has your voice in her head telling her, 'You got a trophy. It don't matter what these people [think]," he said, per People.
Miley Cyrus thanked her mom and her fans
Though she may think of her performances as "no biggie," Cyrus understood the enormity of winning her first Grammy award, and took a moment to thank her biggest supporters on social media.
