Days of Our Lives Has Been Renewed for 2 More Seasons
The 58-time Emmy Award-winning drama started streaming exclusively on Peacock in September.
After 57 years on NBC, Day of Our Lives has officially moved to the streaming platform Peacock. And in March 2023, it was announced the show will be renewed for two more seasons, bringing it into its 60th season.
Some may recall this isn't the franchise's first move toward the NBC-owned streaming service. The Peacock Original spin-off Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem debuted on the platform in September 2021.
According to Mark Lazarus, chairman of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, Days of Our Lives' move to Peacock will maximize the show's already-massive reach while also freeing up space for new NBC content.
"This programming shift benefits both Peacock and NBC and is reflective of our broader strategy to utilize our portfolio to maximize reach and strengthen engagement with viewers," said Lazarus. "With a large percentage of the Days of Our Lives audience already watching digitally, this move enables us to build the show's loyal fanbase on streaming while simultaneously bolstering the network daytime offering with an urgent, live programming opportunity for partners and consumers."
