Urgent push to criminalize explicit deepfakes

The NFL season is officially over. The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl LIX champions, which means that all 32 teams are now looking ahead to the 2025-2026 season, and another chance at championship glory.

We won't see new NFL games on TV until August, but that doesn't mean the next six months will be quiet. The NFL offseason calendar is already packed with important events and key dates for teams to rebuild their rosters and make some major moves to set themselves up for next season. Let's take a closer look at the NFL's 2025 offseason schedule, so you can keep a scouting eye on your favorite squad.

2025 NFL Scouting Combine - February 24 - March 3

Some activity for the 2025 NFL season is already underway, as teams negotiate franchise tags and look at signing free agents, but the biggest major event coming soon is the Scouting Combine. Held for one week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the Combine is the place where all the top college athletes who plan to enter the NFL Draft head to show off their stuff to scouts, coaches, and pundits. They'll run sprints and drills, hit the bench press, and of course be interviewed by various coaches to see if they're the right fit for a given team. Though some college stars are already basically guaranteed a high draft spot, others will use the Combine to show they deserve to be taken sooner rather than later, potentially changing their lives in the process.

New NFL League Year begins - March 12

Between the Scouting Combine and the NFL Draft, we have the official start of the 2025 League Year for the NFL. What does that mean? Well, it means that transactions that teams have been mulling, including trades and signing of free agents, can begin in earnest. Teams will spend the entire spring and part of the summer, up through July, singing unrestricted free agents, talking through trades, and figuring out ways to get their rosters in shape. This is one of those events that means different things for every team, so you'll want to keep an eye on your chosen club to see what they're up to.

NFL Draft - April 24 - 26

The biggest event of the NFL offseason is, without question, the NFL Draft. This year, the League will hold its annual selection event in Green Bay, Wisconsin, bringing a huge celebration along with the draft process. Over these three days in April, the best college prospects from around the country will find out which teams they'll represent in the NFL, and how highly they're valued across the draft board. If you want to know where your favorite college player is going to play on Sundays, don't miss this.

Training Camps begin - July 16

Practice for the 2025-2026 NFL season actually begins for some players in the weeks immediately following the Draft, as teams hold rookie "mini-camps" and the League's Rookie Readiness Program kicks in, while veteran players and quarterbacks show up for their own mini-camps throughout the spring. It's not until mid-July, though, that teams are allowed to convene their entire rosters for training camp, which will get everyone in shape for the preseason games to come in August. The actual start dates are different for each team's Camp, so keep track of your favorite if you want to follow every move.
