Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh are Friendship Goals on the Oppenheimer Red Carpet
When Blunt had a wardrobe malfunction at the London premiere of the Universal Pictures film, Pugh helped saved the day.
Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh may play rivals onscreen in Oppenheimer, but in real life, the actresses seem like anything but. When Blunt had a recent wardrobe malfunction at the London premiere of the biographical thriller from Universal Pictures, Pugh had her back, and also, her front.
Blunt plays Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer in the film, wife of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who helped develop the atomic bomb, while Pugh portrays Jean Tatlock, the physician and Communist Party member who had a romantic relationship with Oppenheimer before he married Kitty, which some believe continued after they were married.

While at a London photo op for the epic, Blunt ran into a bit of trouble when the top button on her shimmery suit apparently popped open. Blunt opened her mouth in shock and placed her hand over the area as photographers snapped away.
Thankfully, Pugh was already by her side and stepped in to help. She aided in covering Blunt up and also adjusted the button, as the pair laughed through the mishap.
Other cast members in attendance at the event were Cillian Murphy, who plays the title role in Oppenheimer; Matt Damon, who co-stars as Leslie Groves, director of the Manhattan Project; and Robert Downey Jr., who portrays Lewis Strauss of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

Pugh isn't the only Oppenheimer cast member Blunt has a bond with. The actress and Murphy — who play husband and wife in Oppenheimer — previously starred together in A Quiet Place Part II, the horror sequel that was written and directed by Blunt's real-life husband, The Office alum John Krasinski.
"I adore him as a person," Blunt recently told NBC Insider of her relationship with Murphy. "He's a friend — I loved working with him before. We have a lot of trust with each other. And so it does lead to freedom in a scene with somebody when you just have a sort of history with them. It's like a sort of secret language or something."
See that secret language for yourself when Oppenheimer hits theaters this Friday, July 21. You can score tickets here.
