Reba McEntire Tells Seth Meyers Who Her "Greatest Competition" Is on The Voice
The Not That Fancy author and Season 24 Voice Coach revealed who she's always "looking that-a-away" at during auditions to see if they'll hit that button.
Season 24 The Voice Coach Reba McEntire paid a visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, and the two had lots talk about, such as her new Not That Fancy book and alum—and, of course, the country legend's first season as a Coach on the competition show after acting as Mega Mentor in Season 23.
"I mean, obviously there's a great camaraderie between you and the other judges," Seth Meyers asked McEntire," but is there one of them that you have your eye on as the greatest competition?"
The Country Music Hall of Famer didn't need a moment to consider it. "John," she answered—as in fellow Coach John Legend, who returned after taking a break in Season 23.
"John's got a great knack for picking great singers," McEntire raved. "And when we're with our backs to the singers that come on to audition, I'm always looking at John, to see if John's going to hit that button!"
But it seems like Legend may be onto McEntire's tricks.
"John's really sneaky!" McEntire told Meyers.
"He won't do anything. He'll just be [humming], and go like that," she said, miming a button push. "And we're all like, 'Oh, man!' But it's fun."

Meyers also asked McEntire about the "impressive" corn mazes that have sprung up with her face and "REBA" visible from overhead. The mazes, created by MAiZE Inc., include games and quizzes about McEntire's life and career.
Partnering with over 40 U.S. farms, the endeavor highlights McEntire's new lifestyle book, Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting off Your Boots.
"I guess they're just using some real good lawnmowers," Meyers said.
"Do they put a computer chip in the tractor or something? McEntire wondered.

"It's NOT just that they found a guy who really knows what you look like, put him behind a tractor and said 'Do your best,'" Meyers joked.
