All About Rose's Husband Logan on The Irrational (DETAILS)
We meet her secret ex during the Season 2 finale.
At the end of The Irrational Season 2's penultimate musical episode, "Suddenly Alec," Rose (Karen David) dropped a bomb: She has a husband.
The audience was just as stunned as Alec (Jesse L. Martin). Thankfully we won't have to wait long to meet Rose's ex, Logan, who makes his debut in the March 25 finale, "The Exchange."
NBC Insider spoke to showrunner Arika Mittman about the decision to introduce this piece of Rose's past into the series as the season wraps— and why it was kept a secret from Alec. Of course, there were the practicalities of being a former M16 agent and becoming used to keeping secrets, particularly ones from the distant past. But there were also the insecurities that creep in when one doesn't want to risk recking a healthy and loving relationship.
"I talked to Karen about this a lot that, like, I think there was a part of her that didn't want Alec to know because Alec took his marriage [to Marisa] so seriously," Mittman says. "Alec spent season one getting over his divorce. When he said forever he meant it, and he took his marriage very seriously... I think Rose, part of her, didn't want him to know that she could have been in her past so casual about marriage. That like, that she could marry somebody for a completely functional reason and not even really worry about the fact that they were still legally married."

There's also the added intrigue of finally adding an obstacle that the extremely compatible Alec and Rose have to fight through together.
"We always knew that this would bring us a lot of interesting story and that her character was going to have a husband," she continued. "We just were trying to figure out where to fit that into the season and we kind of kept putting it off 'cause we were having so much fun with Alec and Rose... Now we have to give them a problem now."
Who plays Rose's husband Logan on The Irrational?
British actor Nick Sagar portrays Rose's husband. You may recognize him from his previous roles on Run the World, The Princess Switch movie trilogy, The Haves and The Have Nots, and Queen of the South.
"He exceeded all our expectations," Mittman told NBC Insider of Sagar's audition and subsequent casting. "He was right for the part."
When opening up to Timid Magazine, Sagar explained that his previous experience as a soccer player and b-boy helped inform his acting career.
"It helped me build my confidence and gave me great foundations to explore once I got into acting," he said. "They also helped with my physicality because I learned how I can move my body, which allows me to create the characters I play."

The actor went on to explain how — as someone who is both Black and Indian — increased diversity and inclusivity in Hollywood has enhanced his career.
"As the world became closer via social media, all these different types of people everywhere were drawn closer together. Different nationalities and heritages are finding similarities and differences to tell their own unique stories. Stories are what bring us together. The more stories we have from the more walks of life, the better," he said.
