You May Have Missed Simon Cowell’s Heartfelt Confession to Mel B on Fantasy League
The Judge reacted to the Spice Girl's AGT return during the spinoff's premiere.
With America's Got Talent: Fantasy League putting Judges against one another for the first time in AGT history, everyone is predicting an especially exciting and maybe even contentious season. But what no one saw coming was a moment of genuine affection between Simon Cowell and Mel B in the very first episode! But it happened, if you can believe it.

Though all the Judges love to playfully rib one another, Mel B in particular seemed to always get under Cowell's skin when she sat at the Judges table during Seasons 8 through 13, and vice versa.

Guess you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. Or rather, 'til she's gone. As AGT: Fantasy League, which aired January 1, got underway, Cowell turned to the Spice Girl on his right and confessed, “Can I be honest with you? I’ve actually missed you.” Mel B. — whose full name is Melanie Brown — was clearly delighted, chirping, "See! See!" On her other side, fellow Judge Heidi Klum agreed. "I know, me too!" said the German-born model, as Howie Mandel hilariously observed, "Mel Be back."
"It's like getting the family back together," added Klum, while Brown gave Cowell a friendly pat on the back.

As cutthroat as the competition can get, nothing will come between Klum and Brown, who are genuine close friends. They even had a slumber party in November, giggling at the comedy Rough Night and singing along to Khia's NSFW jam "My Neck, My Back."
"We had a proper Belly Laugh 😂 at our slumber party 🤪 Love you @officialmelb 🎥Rough Night," wrote Klum on Instagram.

Super-friendly Klum even managed to snag camera-shy Cowell for a four-Judge selfie in October. While Cowell and his fiancé Lauren Silverman are friends with the rest of the Judges, the executive producer tends to skip the hangouts. For instance, he wasn't there during Mandel's lavish boat party in September.
"We all made plans. Who does not show up? Simon. We all [were] like, ‘Where the heck is Simon?’ We waited a little bit at the dock and then we left. Maybe he actually did come in the end, and we don't know," Klum quipped about situation in an interview with PEOPLE.
