After an excellent debut from Hacks star Jean Smart in the season premiere, the show welcomed back five return Hosts in a row, including fan favorite Nate Bargatze and Academy Award-nominated Wicked star Ariana Grande. Pop queens Charli XCX and Lady Gaga pulled double duty, while former cast members Chris Rock and Martin Short took the Studio 8H stage once again, with the latter finally becoming a Five-Timers Club member

And then there were the many SNL50 celebrations marking five decades of the show since its October 1975 premiere, including [deep breath] a four-part Peacock docuseries, a 50 Seasons in 50 Days sketch countdown, the incredible 50 Years of SNL Music documentary, and the astounding SNL50: The Homecoming ConcertAnd it all led up to a three-hour special that united just about every living current and former member of the cast, as well as a whole lot of previous Hosts.

Academy Award-winning Anora star Mikey Madison hosted for her first time on March 29, with Musical Guest Morgan Wallen. But is tonight's SNL new, too? Get the details below.

Jack Black.

The actor stars with Jason Momoa in the new A Minecraft Movie, and his past films include Kung Fu PandaSuper Mario Bros. Movie, the Mike White-penned comedy School of Rock.

As Black pointed out during an April 1Tonight Show visit, it will be his fourth time hosting — but his first time in 20 years. In the promo for the upcoming episode, Black puzzles cast members Ego Nwodim and Ashley Padilla by acting like more of a party host than an SNL Host, preparing a roast and asking Micheal Longfellow to take his shoes off before entering Studio 8H.

"Oh great, the asparagus is soggy," Black says, tossing veggie into the air. "I am BLOWING IT!"

Elton John and Brandi Carlile. The two will perform songs from their joint studio album, Who Believes in Angels?, released on April 4.
