Morgan Jay plays Colby Twill on St. Denis Medical
In St. Denis Medical Jay portrays Colby Twill, an internet sensation who’s coming to put a smile on the face of the kids in the hospital.
When Dr. Ron (David Alan Grier) greets him, though, he can’t help but notice a lump on the singer’s neck. Concerned that it’s an early sign of thyroid cancer, Dr. Ron takes Colby to test it right away, which delays the concert.
In an effort to stall the audience, which includes a reporter from the local newspaper, several employees step in to show off their skills. This includes Chaplain Steve (Stephen Schneider) doing a controversial stand-up set, and nurse Matt (Mekki Leeper) performing a questionable magic act.
The wait for Colby’s insurance to clear takes too long in Joyce’s eyes, so she asks Dr. Ron to simply bill his entire visit to the hospital for the sake of saving the show. Upset that the uninsured patients that come into St. Denis can’t afford their needs, Dr. Ron gets nurse Alex (Allison Tolman) to help him bill all of the uninsured patients’ bills to Twill’s tab instead.
Eventually, all of Twill’s tests come back negative and he makes it to the stage in time to save the show before the reporter leaves.
