Suits LA Episode 4 Sees Gabriel Macht Return As Harvey Specter For an Epic Pep Talk
At long last, fans got their first look at Gabriel Macht reprising his role as Harvey Specter in Suits LA.
Suits LA Episode 4 turned up the heat all around and it’s not just because it featured the highly anticipated return of Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter. In the present day, Ted Black’s murder case took a huge step forward and in the past, we learned that he maybe had good reason to fear for his and his family’s safety from the mafia.
Meanwhile, Stuart Lane (Josh McDermitt) and Rick Dodsen (Bryan Greenberg) teamed up to help yet another celebrity client. This time it was Veronica Mars and Galaxy Quest actor Enrico Colantoni. The episode covered a lot of ground and had some of the most hilarious moments in the series so far. So, with so much to cover, let’s dive in.
Harvey Specter returns, kind of
As the show continues, viewers see more and more of the story that led to Ted (Stephen Amell) leaving New York to become an attorney in Los Angeles as well as what led to the untimely death of his beloved brother, Eddie (Carson A. Egan). In Episode 4, the mob boss known as Pellegrini (Anthony Azizi) approached Ted at Eddie’s workplace to warn him not to pursue the case while not-so-convincingly promising him they don’t go after family. This sends Ted into a downward spiral worrying about Eddie and Samantha (Rachelle Goulding) who he was very seriously dating at the time.

At his amateur baseball game, he’s pitching poorly and angrily. What fixes him? A pep talk from his shortstop, Harvey Specter. He can tell that there’s something else on his pitcher’s mind and tells him that if he clears his head and gets them to the playoffs, he’ll buy him a drink and they can talk it out.
Later, at the bar (of course they were victorious on the field) Harvey cancels Ted’s beer order and instead gets a high-end whiskey despite Ted protesting that Eddie won’t like it. He’s right, but Harvey still considers it money well spent. That’s when he, in true Harvey Specter fashion, uses his connections and know-how to put Ted’s mind at ease.
He explains that he called his people at the DA and discovered Pellegrini has someone in Ted’s office. However, despite the mole, Ted has made such a public show about going to war (legally) with the mob boss that even he knows going after this particular federal prosecutor would be a losing strategy. So Ted is safe, for now.
While the episode marks the return of Gabriel Macht in the Suits universe, it’s not quite the “return” of Harvey Specter since this storyline takes place in the past, even before the start of the original Suits. During the scene at the bar, Ted notes that Harvey is still a prosecutor.
Ted’s murder case moves forward
In the present day, Ted has been taking great pains to represent Lester Thompson (Kevin Weisman) who is accused of murdering his business partner. Ted thinks he’s innocent and is preparing for trial when something moves up his timeline. The studio that Lester is working for is trying to take his name off the passion project movie he’s been making. That’s unacceptable and Ted manipulates his client into moving up his trial so that he can clear his name before the film’s release. After a legal back and forth with the studio, Ted rescues his client’s name from being scrubbed from the movie but the deed is done. They’re going to trial way sooner than they’d originally hoped.
Luckily, Ted is confident they can still win. Add in the fact that he’s got Erica Rollins (Lex Scott Davis) and Amanda Stevens (Maggie Grace) on his side and he just might be right.
Enrico Colantoni gets arrested for…
While all the Ted intrigue is happening in the past and present, Rick and Stuart join forces to help actor Enrico Colantoni, who is playing himself, with a particularly embarrassing vandalism charge. They get the prickly actor out of jail after he was arrested for using a chainsaw to carve a “full package” in his neighbor’s petunias.
At first, he lies about being the culprit but Rick and a particularly angry Stuart uncover a video of him doing the deed. When pressed, Colantoni admits that he was the victim of a prank call by his TikTok-famous neighbor that humiliated him in front of his kids. So, the garden “prank” was his form of payback. Luckily for him, the prank involved the neighbor impersonating a police officer, a crime much worse than vandalism, so they’re able to get him to drop the charges based on some mutually assured destruction.
However, after some drinks with Rick, Enrico confides that he’s still not satisfied because of the humiliation. So, being the morally upright lawyer that he is, Rick agrees to facilitate getting Enrico on the neighbor’s livestream, which he thinks will help him save face in front of his kids, who are fans.
The episode ends on a relatively high note. Although Black and Lane and their respective friends are still at war, there’s little hints that there’s room for them all to heal. This is good news as things keep turning up as we await perhaps the present-day return of Harvey Specter.
