Susan Boyle Did a Show-Stopping Musical Theater Duet with Donny Osmond
The Britain's Got Talent Season 3 finalist has been a long admirer of Osmond's.
In 2012, Britain's Got Talent Season 3 runner-up Susan Boyle and Donny Osmond joined forces on Dancing with the Stars for a thrilling duet of "This Is the Moment" from the 1990 musical Jekyll & Hyde.
The performance started out with Osmond crooning the first lyrics with his signature rich tone. Although Boyle appeared shy at first when it was her turn to sing, her voice soared and sounded majestic when she hit the sustained notes. Check out the performance here.
In this sweet interview behind-the-scenes of DWTS after the performance, Boyle revealed that she had listened to Osmond's albums at an early age and was a big fan of his. Osmond returned the admiration, saying that he cried when he first heard her Britain's Got Talent Audition and that he watched it "probably 20 times."
Unsurprisingly, the crowd "went bananas" when the two performed "This Is the Moment" live. "It was just the most amazing moment for me, too. Because I got the chills when you sang," Osmond complimented Boyle's performance.
About "This Is the Moment"
"This Is the Moment" is a song off Osmond's 2001 13th studio album of the same name. The song was originally featured in the 1990 musical Jekyll & Hyde but with some different lyrics. In 2012, Boyle collaborated with Osmond to feature it as the final track on her fourth studio album Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs from the Stage.
