The Biggest Questions Fans Have Going Into The Blacklist Finale
With over 200 Blacklisters put behind bars, fans can't wait to see how it all concludes.
The end of The Blacklist is quickly approaching. Ahead of the explosive two-hour series finale — premiering Thursday, July 13 at 8/7c on NBC — fans are prepping for an emotional crescendo. Also: They have questions, and the answers can't come soon enough.
Reddington (James Spader) and his Task Force have been going after the world's worst criminals for over a decade. Over 200 Blacklisters have been put behind bars thanks to Red and his dedicated team of agents, but as we approach the intense conclusion to the series, Red is back at square one with the FBI. Everything has changed on The Blacklist; the Task Force has been dismantled, Red is at large, and his longtime colleagues are have to take him down.
Ahead of the exciting finale, check out some of the most biggest questions fans have about The Blacklist right now.
Who is new to The Blacklist Season 10 cast?
The Reddington Task Force received a bit of a revamp in its final season with the introduction of agent Siya Malik, played by Anya Banerjee. Joined by Siya is Herbie Hambright (Alex Brightman), a forensic analyst that Red has kept on retainer until he joins the Task Force. Sadly, Siya and Herbie settled into the Task Force HQ just as it began to be torn apart.
Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) has welcomed several new agents to the Reddington Task Force throughout the years, and in the series' 11th hour, fans met Siya, the daughter of Season 1's Meera Malik. Siya is an active Intelligence Officer for MI-6 who was placed on a temporary assignment with the Task Force. She eventually decided to stick around full-time.

Herbie was first introduced in Season 9 of The Blacklist as one of Red's more unorthodox affiliates. However, he quickly became a go-to resource throughout the series' final season due to his talent in forensics. Herbie is the happy-go-lucky comic relief who always has something to say, even if his timing leaves room for want. Together, Siya and Herbie have been fantastic additions to the Task Force, despite their brief time within the team.
Why did the Task Force get shut down?
The Reddington Task Force came to a reluctant end after details of the squad's illusive nature piqued the interest of an overly curious congressman. After unveiling Red's ongoing criminal network and connection to the Task Force, the FBI agreed that the Task Force was working for Red more than Red was working for the FBI.
What began as curiosity rooted in redirected government funds quickly evolved into unveiling a criminal hiding behind the FBI. Congressman Arthur Hudson (Toby Leonard Moore) became obsessed with blowing the cap off the mysterious Task Force #836, and after gathering enough damning evidence, he forced Cooper into a corner with his own admission of committing treason with Red. Red was one step ahead of Hudson the entire time, so he wiretapped Cooper's nerve-wracking meeting with the FBI to assume the legal blame for the Task Force's actions.
By Red's own hand, the Task Force was shut down for good. Cooper and the agents were gobsmacked by the shocking turn of events. However, they were even more dismayed to learn the FBI had one final assignment for the shut-down squad: capture and apprehend Raymond Reddington. Red knew that the jig was up, so he bid farewell to his longtime colleagues and told Cooper to "catch me if you can." Red is on the run, and the only people who might arrest him are the same people who care about him most.
Where is Red going while on the run?
Red's intended destination is a mystery to fans and his former Task Force colleagues alike.
Blacklist fans have seen Red navigate dozens of high-stakes escapes; the man has limitless resources and a lifetime's worth of criminal experience. In Season 10, Episode 20 ("Arthur Hudson"), Red faked his own death by blowing up his private jet to buy himself some time to make an escape plan. We have no idea where Red is heading, but it's unlikely he's taking to the skies any time soon.
