How Kevin Hawkins Handled Both Gwen and Camila Trying to Steal Him on The Voice
He had a decision to make!
Sending anyone home from Blake Shelton's first Knockout on The Voice Season 22 would have been difficult. Now that three-way Knockouts are a thing, each round will see one Artist advancing and two going home. Talk about heightened stakes!
The October 31st episode saw Team Blake Contestants The Dryes, Bodie, and Kevin Hawkins competing. And each performance was astounding. Hawkins performed "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush, Bodie did a take on "Better Now" by Post Malone, and The Dryes did "Chasing After You" by Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd. Ultimately, Shelton chose Bodie to advance to the Live Shows, but that's not where the story ends.
Both Camila Cabello and Gwen Stefani attempted to use their Knockout Steal on Hawkins. "I could not see him walk out," Cabello said, while Stefani added, "Your performance, for me, was flawless. Just everything about you. Your style, just your energy. I think we would be great together."
Cabello also had some praise for Hawkins. "I've always thought that you had crazy star power," she said. "When you sing something and I feel something in my heart, I can't let somebody like that go, because I like people that are the whole package."
Hawkins ultimately decided to go Team Gwen. "Gwen, you were the first one to turn around for me [during the Blinds], so I'm going with you."
And just like that, a new Artist-Coach pairing is born. Watch The Voice on NBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock.
