Someone get Jack Sparrow on the horn, because tonight's episode of The Americas is headed for the tropical environs of "The Caribbean." Prepare yourself for palm trees, crystal-clear water, and plenty of blazing sunshine, filled with everything from sperm whales and capuchin monkeys to lightning-fast sailfish and hummingbirds.

How to Watch

Watch The Americas Sundays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

"We chose the hot spots which we felt had an identity and a signature, and possibly places people had heard about,” the show's award-winning executive producer Mike Gunton (LifePlanet Earth IIDynasties) told NBC Insider earlier this month. "I think it's an enjoyable thing to be enticed by something that you want to find out more."

As per usual on The Americas, Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump) provides voiceover narration, with original music courtesy of fellow Oscar legend, Hans Zimmer (Dune: Part Two).

What time is The Americas’ new episode on tonight, Sunday, March 30?

The eighth installment of The Americas — “The Caribbean" — is set to premiere tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC. Tune in an hour early at 7:00 p.m. ET to catch an encore presentation of “The Gulf Coast" — the series’ sixth episode.

A family of sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) swims together.

"I'm not ashamed about anthropomorphism,” Gunton explained while discussing the topic of ascribing human attributes to the wildlife shown onscreen. "We're all animals and you see in an animal's reaction to something — in their face, in their behavior, in their actions — concern and all the things that we think are just purely human. But they're not. If you spend any time with animals, you can see that. So, I think you let the animals and the pictures and the stories sort of speak for themselves, rather than imposing on that some other kind of subtext, which historically is probably less successful."

A making-of special airs Sunday, April 20 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC before hitting Peacock the next day.
