On December 8, 2022, we saw Law & Order make a thrilling return after a two-week break due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The episode that aired, titled “The System,” told the riveting story of Detective Shaw and Detective Price questioning their roles in the justice system after a murder suspect escapes from custody. But just when we’ve been given more juicy, action-packed crime, we have another little break. Yes, sadly, Season 22 of Law & Order will be taking another brief hiatus in the upcoming weeks. But don’t fret, as this absence is only temporary. When will the show return in all of its glory, you ask? That’s right. On Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 8/7c, your favorite detectives and not-so-favorite hardened criminals will be back after a three-week hiatus due to the holiday season. That means you’ll have to wait until the new year to see some more gripping cases unfold, but we promise it’ll be worth the wait. In the meantime, you can catch up on your favorite Law & Order episodes on Peacock, something Dick Wolf would approve of.

Watch Law & Order on NBC Thursdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. (Just not for the next three weeks! Remember, new episodes come back January 5, 2023.)
