Jimmy Fallon Just Announced the Guests for The Tonight Show's Monday Return
Matthew McConaughey will be Fallon's first guest on October 2, the talk show host said—or rather, sang.
This one's going to be worth the wait: New episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will return to NBC on Monday, October 2 at 11:35/10:35c!
New episodes will stream the next day on Peacock.
Fallon has shared the full guest list for The Tonight Show's first week of new shows since May 2023, which will include visits from actor and author Matthew McConaughey and Colombian pop star Maluma.
Who will be Jimmy Fallon's first guests to return?
The Tonight Show's October 2 first guest will be Matthew McConaughey with musical guest John Mayer, Fallon announced in a September 29 Instagram post.
Fallon busted out his acoustic guitar to make the announcement blues-rock style. "Matthew McConaughey is our first guest," he sings. "He has a new children's book out called Just Because, it's great." He went on to announce Mayer's appearance. "[Mayer's] gonna play guitar as well. And sing."
"And Matthew McConaughey will sing too," the Tonight Show host ad-libbed. "I haven't asked him yet,"but...Matthew will you?"
Why is The Tonight Show showing repeats?
Both of NBC's late night talk shows, The Tonight Show and Late Night with Seth Meyers, have been off the air since May 2. They paused production in compliance with the WGA strike, which officially ended at midnight on September 27.
