The Crew Talks Wine, Friendship and the Zombie Apocalypse | Grand Crew | NBC

With the Grand Crew Season 2 two-episode finale airing April 28 at 8:30/7:30c, fans are eager to know where their favorite wine-loving gang's stories are headed — and if we'll be left with any juicy cliffhangers.

How to Watch

Watch Grand Crew on NBC and Peacock.

But one thing they're bound to notice: One member of the friend group — Fay (Grasie Mercedes) — will be missing from the final episodes. So what happened to Fay? As it turns out, there's a perfectly reasonable (but sad) explanation. Read on, below, to find out more.

Where is Fay on Grand Crew?

At the end of Season 2, Episode 7's "Wine & Honors," Anthony (Aaron Jennings) confessed to Fay that he finally wanted to make things official between the two of them...but then he realized that they were standing in the middle of her empty apartment. She then confessed that she was leaving L.A. It's in Episode 8's "Wine & Bachata" that she reveals she's moving back to New York City to be the general manager for a new wine bar Amir is opening on the East Coast.

She and Anthony amicably decided to break up because distance would be too hard on their new romance. This is why you won't see her in the Season 2 finale.

Is Fay coming back to Grand Crew?

There is no official word on Fay's return the series, but Mercedes did leave the sweetest message for fans on her Instagram following her last episode.

"Thank you so much for all the love, tweets & DMs. They’ve been amazing to read," she said. "Whether or not there’s a season 3 or Fay ever returns to LA is currently unknown but regardless of what happens in the future, all I can do is be extremely grateful for this journey. Thank you @philaugustaj, Dan Goor, Susie Farris, @universaltv@nbc, & @peacock for the opportunity to be part of the crew."

She continued, "Thank you to my cast mates for always having my back and quickly becoming my family on and off the screen. Love y’all. And thank you to the @grandcwriters and the entire crew who worked tirelessly to bring this magic to the screen. Forever grateful for all of you."

Watch Grand Crew on Peacock and on NBC.
