Who Is Marissa Shankar's Character Sarah in Peacock's Ted Prequel Series?
Marissa Shankar plays Sarah, who is in a relationship with Blaire in Ted's Christmas episode.
This story contains spoilers for Ted Season 1, Episode 6, "Loud Night."
The Ted TV show, now streaming on Peacock, expands the world first introduced in the two Ted films, which told the story of a dude and his talking teddy bear living outside of Boston. The series takes place in the ‘90s when John (Mark Wahlberg in the films and Max Burkholder in the show) was just a teen, living with Ted (Seth MacFarlane) and his family. In addition to expanding the world of the show by revealing how Ted and John grew up and introducing more members of his family, the series also expands the minds of that family when they’re confronted with the news that their niece, Blaire (Giorgia Whigham), is dating another woman, Sarah (Marissa Shankar).

Who Plays Sarah in Ted?
Marissa Shankar, a young actress who appeared in a few indie films before appearing in Ted, plays Sarah, a “friend” of Blaire from college who stays with the Bennett family over the Christmas break.
Which Episode Is Sarah in?
As Sarah, Shankar only appears in one episode of Ted’s first season, Episode 6, “Loud Night.” At first, the Bennett family — especially John’s dad, Matty (Scott Grimes) — aren’t especially welcoming. Both Matty and John’s mom, Susan (Alanna Ubach), make offensive comments about Sarah’s Indian heritage, with Matty talking disparagingly about Indian food and then later getting in a debate about immigrants. (A talking toy dump truck also gets in on the debate, because this is Ted.)
Things escalate, though, when Susan walks in on Blaire and Sarah making out on Blaire’s bed. Although Sarah and Blaire initially try to be open about the nature of their romantic relationship, the closed-minded Susan simply thinks they’re just “good friends.”

The rest of the episode — not to spoil it — involves the Bennetts coming to terms with Blaire and Sarah and doing their best to make their home welcoming despite their initial prejudices. It is Christmas, after all.
All seven episodes of Ted’s first season are streaming on Peacock.
