Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has welcomed TV actress Kate Middleton (not the royal!) for Season 26. And eagle-eyed fans may recognize her from some of her other Dick Wolf projects.

How to Watch

Watch Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Middleton is no stranger to the camera; she's appeared in episodes of several gripping TV dramas like FBI: Most Wanted, Orange Is the New Black, and NBC's The Blacklist. Middleton has also taken her talents to the big screen, appearing in 2021's The Tender Bar and Boston Strangler (2023), to name a few of her films. But it all began with Middleton's first-ever guest role on SVU. Also: Fans of Chicago Fire might recognize her from a role she had on that show, as well.

In anticipation of Middleton's exciting appearance on SVU Season 26, Episode 18 ("The Accuser"), we're reflecting on some of her most unforgettable roles.

Middleton's latest appearance on SVU is a full circle moment; she made her acting debut in the Season 4 episode titled "Desperate." While Middleton's appearance was brief, she impressed enough to snag another guest star role in the Season 17 premiere of the original Law & Order (titled "Fame"). Middleton played Paula Carvahal, a woman who crossed paths with the squad after a police officer's mystifying murder.

Kate Middleton played an illusive arsonist on Chicago Fire

Kelly Severide smiles at his father Benny Severide on Chicago Fire Season 4 Episode 7

Fans of Wolf's One Chicago franchise may recognize Middleton from her gripping role in Season 7 of Chicago Fire; she guest starred in Episode 21 ("The White Whale") and the season finale ("I'm Not Leaving You").

Middleton played Carol Spears, a serial arsonist who evaded authorities for decades. She landed on Kelly Severide's (Taylor Kinney) radar after he learned his father, former Office of Fire Investigation Chief Benny Severide, had searched for the illusive arsonist for years with no luck, thus dubbing her the OFI's "White Whale." After successfully evading OFI by pretending to be an arson victim and witness, Carol returned to her fire-starting ways a decade after laying low.

After setting a hair salon ablaze, Carol began leaving breadcrumbs for Firehouse 51, leading to a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase. Carol was willing to do whatever was necessary to avoid arrest, including committing an explosive murder that rattled the entire unit. However, after Severide tracked down Carol to an ex-husband's home, she was arrested, and Firehouse 51 finally ended the White Whale's multi-decade reign of terror.
