Kelly Clarkson Reveals the Relatable Reason She's Not Going on Tour for Her Album
She informed fans of her busy work and personal schedule.
With news of Kelly Clarkson's much anticipated upcoming album, "Chemistry", many fans are awaiting an announcement of an accompanying tour even though the Voice star already announced a Vegas residency that's taking place this summer.
However, Clarkson clarified her plans regarding a potential tour in a recent post. And her explanation will be extremely relatable for many of her fans.
"People are saying: 'Are you going on tour?''" she addressed the big question on an Instagram video. "Here's the thing. This is why I announced the 10 shows in Vegas. I was not being like, 'Oh, it's a secret we've really got this huge tour we're gonna do right after.' It's not that situation. It really is like — I don't know if y'all noticed, but I have like a 9 to 5-er. I have like, a job that's like a lot of work and takes time. And, I also have kids, y'know, they're in school. So I get really tied down to those things obviously. So we are trying to figure out what the possibilities are in certain parts of out calendar. We are trying to do that," she said.
As for "Chemistry" the album is set to be released on June 23, 2023. Clarkson has already released two amazing singles from the track list, titled "me" and "mine", which show off her powerful vocals perfectly. In other exciting news, the one and only Steve Martin will be featured on another single, titled "i hate love".
But what exactly should fans expect from the new project?
"It's called Chemistry because I was trying to find a word—also, it might be one of the songs on the album—but I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing," Clarkson said. "Because I didn't want everyone to think I was just coming out with some, 'I'm angry, I'm sad' [album], just one or two emotions. This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship. A whole relationship shouldn't be just brought down to one thing. So there's the good, the bad, and the ugly kinda thing going on. Chemistry can be a really amazing sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you. So that's why I named it Chemistry. I thought it was the perfect title to describe the entire album."
"Having chemistry with someone is an incredible, and overwhelming, feeling," she added on Instagram."It’s like you have no choice in the matter. You are just drawn to each other. This can be good and bad. This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down. We decided to release [the first singles] 'mine' and 'me' at the same time because I didn’t want to release just one song to represent an entire album, or relationship. There are many stages of grief and loss on this album. Each song is a different stage and emotional state."
