Actor Bio
Xolo Maridueña portrays Victor on NBC's drama series "Parenthood." Victor was adopted by Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger). His work has earned him an Imagen Award nomination in 2014 as well as a Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Ensemble in 2014.
For Maridueña, being involved in the entertainment industry runs in the family. Most of his early years were spent in radio studios with his mother watching other artists perform. It was there that his curiosity and interest in the field peaked. At the tender age of nine, Maridueña told his parents, "I want to be on TV. That would be cool."
His natural talent and unique ethnicity (Mexican, Cuban and Ecuadorian descent) helped him quickly sign with an agent and nail his first audition, a national commercial for Sears. He went on to snag several more national spots and advertisements for major brands including Target, Verizon, Payless Shoes and Lowe's. Maridueña is now taking Hollywood by storm starring as Victor on NBC's primetime hit drama "Parenthood," alongside Lauren Graham, Peter Krause and an all-star ensemble cast. First appearing in the Season 3 finale as the newly adopted son of Julia Braverman (Erika Christensen) and Joel Graham (Sam Jaeger), and brother of Sydney (Savannah Paige Rae), Maridueña is now a series regular. This season chronicles the struggles that Joel and Julia are going through with their marriage and how it is affecting their children. Other TV appearances include lending his voice on the hit animated series "Family Guy" and a guest starring role on the hit TNT drama "Major Crimes."
Maridueña can also be seen on the big screen, with a supporting role in the new film, "Dealin' with Idiots," directed by Jeff Garlin. Based on events in the director's life, "Dealin' with Idiots" tells the tale of the antics that occur with parents and their athletically blessed children. Maridueña plays Manny, the best friend of Jeff Garlin's son and team shortstop. He costars alongside his onscreen mothers Gina Gershon and Keri Kenny.
Maridueña has been already recognized for his talent by being named one of Latina Magazine's 50 Brightest Stars under 25. When not working, Maridueña enjoys martial arts, video games and tennis. He especially loves music, spending much of his time listening and spinning records with his dad. Due to his natural inquisitiveness, he also has a love of science and watches as much Discovery Channel as he can.
Maridueña resides in Los Angeles with his family. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
