Bowen Yang returns for his fifth season as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" after joining the show as a staff writer in Season 44.

Yang is a comedian, writer and actor based in New York. He has entertained viewers with his lineup of standout characters and impressions, including fan-favorite the Iceberg That Sank the Titanic and Fran Lebowitz on "Weekend Update." Yang received back-to-back Emmy Award nominations in 2021 and 2022 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, becoming the first featured player in the show's history to be nominated for an Emmy. In 2019, he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series as a member of the "SNL" writing staff. Yang was also featured in the TIME 100 Most Influential People of 2021.

Yang is the co-host of the acclaimed podcast "Las Culturistas," which won Podcast of the Year in 2023 at the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. He co-stars in the Comedy Central series "Awkwafina is Nora from Queens" and has also appeared on HBO's "High Maintenance," Comedy Central's "Broad City" and Peacock's "Girls5eva." In 2022, he starred in Searchlight Pictures' romantic comedy film "Fire Island." Additional film credits include "Bros," "The Lost City" and "Isn't It Romantic." He was also a consulting producer on Apple TV+'s "Schmigadoon!"

Most recently, Yang co-starred in the musical comedy "Dicks: The Musical," alongside Megan Thee Stallion and Nathan Lane. He will next co-star in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical "Wicked."

Yang is from Aurora, Colorado, and his birthday is November 6.
