Actress Amy Brenneman landed her big break in 1993 with NYPD Blue, on which she portrayed Detective Janice Licalsi and earned two Emmy nominations. She next headlined Judging Amy in 1999, for which she was Emmy-nominated three times. Following the show's conclusion in 2005, Brenneman joined Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice in 2007, playing Dr. Violet Turner. She currently stars on HBO's The Leftovers. The actress' film credits include 1995's Heat, 2000's Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, 2005's Nine Lives and 2007's The Jane Austen Book Club.
