In her more than 40-year career, Bette Midler has won four Grammy Awards, four Golden Globes, three Emmy Awards and a Tony. Her career began on Broadway, where she portrayed Tzeitel, the oldest daughter in Fiddler on the Roof. She released her first album, The Divine Miss M, in 1972, later winning the Grammy for Best New Artist. In 1979, Midler landed her first starring role in The Rose, earning two Golden Globes, an Oscar nomination and a Grammy for the film's title song. Her other notable film roles include For the Boys, for which she was Oscar nominated, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Ruthless People, Outrageous Fortune, Big Business, Beaches and Hocus Pocus. She will release her 14th album, It's the Girls!, in November.
