Bill Gates is the co-founder of Microsoft and served as the company's CEO until 2000. From 2000 to 2008, Gates was Microsoft's chief software architect. In 2014, Gates stepped down as chairman but transitioned into the new role of founder and technology advisor to support Microsoft's new CEO, Satya Nadella. Since 2000, Gates has committed more time to his work with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the charitable organization he founded with his wife.
