Gov. Andrew Cuomo is an American politician, lawyer and author. Since 2011, he has served as the 56th governor of New York. His father, Gov. Mario Cuomo, held the governor's office for over a decade. After receiving his education from Fordham University and Albany Law School, Andrew Cuomo went to serve as New York’s assistant district attorney and later served as the Housing and Urban Development secretary under the Clinton administration. From 2007 to 2010, he served as New York’s attorney general. In 2018, Cuomo made headlines after earning the largest number of votes for any governor in New York's history. Cuomo is also the first real politician to receive an Emmy Award. He will be honored by the International Academy of Television Arts for his daily coronavirus briefings in the spring of 2020.
