Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker, literary scholar and journalist who has hosted the PBS series Finding Your Roots since 2012. He also currently serves as the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor and Director of the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University. Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. has published several books and produced several documentary films, including The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song and Frederick Douglass: In Five Speeches. He can currently be seen hosting the 10th anniversary season of Finding Your Roots, which premiered in January 2024.
