Tariq Trotter

Tariq Trotter, also known as Black Thought, is a Grammy Award-winning rapper and the lead vocalist of the Philadelphia-based hip-hop group The Roots. He has released 14 studio albums with the group since 1993. Trotter, along with Questlove, produced Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast Recording), the official album of the Tony Award-winning musical. The two also serve as co-executive producers for the AMC documentary series Hip Hop: The Songs That Shook America, which came out in October 2019. Black Thought is featured on Common’s latest single, "Say Peace."
