The Smashing Pumpkins

Musician

The Smashing Pumpkins are a Grammy Award-winning alternative rock band. The band's debut album, Gish, was released in 1991 and followed up by the best-selling albums Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. After a hiatus that began in 2000, band members Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin reformed The Smashing Pumpkins in 2007 and released Zeitgeist. Following Chamberlin's departure, Jeff Schroeder and Corgan soldiered on and began working on a mega-album titled Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. Chamberlin and James Iha rejoined the band in 2018, ahead of the Shiny and Oh So Bright tour. The band's singles "Purple Blood," "The Colour of Love," "Birch Grove," "Confessions of a Dopamine Addict" and "Wrath" were featured on their latest studio album, CYR, which was released in November 2020. The rock band can next be seen on their upcoming Spirits on Fire U.S. tour beginning in October 2022.
