Whoopi Goldberg is one of the few in Hollywood who can lay claim to an EGOT - an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony Award. The actress and comedian first gained acclaim in 1985, when she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for The Color Purple and won a Grammy for the recording of her one-woman show, Whoopi Goldberg: Original Broadway Show Recording. Five years later, Goldberg was named Best Supporting Actress for her role in Ghost and went on to star in the films Made in America, Sister Act, How Stella Got Her Groove Back and Girl, Interrupted. She won a Tony in 2002 for her performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Since 2007, Goldberg has served as a co-host on ABC’s The View, for which she earned one of her two Daytime Emmy Awards. Recently, she has appeared in The Stand on Paramount+, Harlem, Luck and My Father’s Dragon, and was cast in the upcoming movie Sister Act 3. She also released her book Bits and Pieces in May 2024.
