Jay’s musical odyssey began in Georgetown, Guyana, where his sister Jada gifting him a guitar at age 14 sparked a lifelong passion. Despite limited opportunities in his hometown, he found creative outlets busking near tourist spots and playing in local venues. After moving to the United States in 2016, Jay balanced his musical aspirations with a six-year stint in the Army, where he served in Afghanistan while sharing his talents with fellow soldiers. Settling in Clarksville, Tennessee, to pursue music full-time, he quickly built momentum performing in local bars and street performances. Though a devastating EF-3 tornado in 2023 temporarily disrupted his musical journey, Jay's resilient spirit and dedication to his craft continue to drive his artistic pursuits forward.
