Michael grew up in a Southern household and is a soul/R&B artist. His father raised him on Motown, Lionel Richie, the Commodores, Elvis and Johnny Cash, and bought him a guitar when he was 12. Michael, who is a big fan of Maroon 5 since the album Songs About Jane, moved to Nashville where he became well-known playing guitar and singing back-up vocals for other artists. After several years of being a sideman, Michael is ready to begin his career as a front man and he hopes to do it on The Voice.
