Matt grew up in a conservative family and got his start singing in church. He later learned to play guitar and perfected his vocals by gigging at local coffee shops. At 19, his girlfriend got pregnant, so they got married and Matt pushed music aside to take care of his young family. Matt and his wife, Kylie, now have two boys, but are more financially secure, so Matt has recently been able to return to music. He performs around town and started “Music in the City,” a concert series featuring upcoming artists for charity.
