CAMRYN BROOKS

Bio

We last saw Camryn on Season 21 of “The Voice.” She was a caregiver for her older brother, Corben, who was paralyzed playing football. Shortly after her episode aired, Camryn needed care of her own. She spent a week in the hospital after experiencing extreme reactions to a medication she was prescribed and went into pre-cardiac arrest. Despite having no prior medical history, Camryn developed heart disease at 21. Her condition was so severe that she was told she had a 50-50 chance of survival and thought she had lost her voice forever. After trying various treatments, she decided to only take the essential heart medications and began to feel better than ever. It took almost three years of therapy and practice, but after enrolling in pop performance classes and working diligently with her cardiologist, she finally increased her stamina and regained her singing voice. Having recently graduated from the University of Southern California, Camryn is looking to pursue her music career head on. She feels like she has a second chance at life and she’s living life to the fullest again at “The Voice.”
