Main Content
As a first-generation Filipino American, Kay cherishes her heritage and the role it played in her musical upbringing. Her earliest memories are of family karaoke nights. In 2021, Kay's life was upended when her father was diagnosed with late-stage liver cancer, leading to his death later that year. The experience was traumatic but brought her family closer together. Her father, who was her biggest supporter, had taught her to play guitar at 13 and shared her love for singing competitions. Since graduating from UCLA in 2022, Kay has turned her musical passions into a full-time career. She supports herself through high-profile theater work, directing youth projects and performing in various choral gigs. Kay has performed on major stages, including opening for Chris Martin at Oakland’s Fox Theater and the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Her starring role as Juliet in Pat Benatar’s musical "Invincible" led to a performance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in November 2022. Her social media presence has also attracted praise, including recognition from her favorite artist, Tori Kelly.
