Mary is a tech support specialist at a software company, which she balances with her music career. She frequently performs at venues around the city with her band and, recently, Mary reached a significant milestone by opening for Nancy Wilson of Heart. Mary developed a passion for music at an early age, inspired by her father’s nightly renditions of Frank Sinatra classics before bedtime. As she grew, her involvement in music evolved from participating in school choirs to joining a cappella groups and various bands. With guidance from her older brother, Jimi, a fellow musician, Mary taught herself to play guitar and started songwriting. She used her skills to release an EP in 2018. In her early 20s, Mary faced mental health hurdles, but through her exploration of spirituality and self-healing, combined with exercise and the therapeutic power of songwriting, she has been able to manage her depression and anxiety. These tools have reinforced her journey as a musician, providing strength and affirming her life’s purpose.
