At 15, Katie found her passion for music when she learned to play guitar and began writing songs. She moved to Nashville to attend college at Belmont University where she found a small amount of local success with her original music. Shortly after graduation, Katie's father developed health issues requiring open-heart surgery. Realizing the gravity of the situation, she moved home to be with her family. Katie's father has since improved, and she is ready to pick up her music career where she left off.
