Tarra's plans to move to Florida to live with her father and make music tragically ended when he passed away as a result of alcoholism before she could make the trip. Inspired by the memory of her father, Tarra decided to move to Nashville. In 2012, she opened for Gavin DeGraw at Webster Hall in New York City and the following year moved to Los Angeles and created her own self-titled band. Recently, she was Barbie's singing voice for the song "Strength in Numbers," which is the theme song for the new Barbie Spy Squad movie.
