Shana's dad, Dick Halligan, was a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning jazz-rock band Blood, Sweat & Tears. Inspired by her dad, Shana was always drawn to music but made strides to establish herself as an artist independent of her father's success. Shana helped form the band Bitter:Sweet, which gained a lot of clout in the indie scene from 2005 to 2010, but unfortunately dissolved right on the cusp of mainstream success. Shana now lives in Los Angeles, where she takes care of her 2-year-old son, Otis, and plays shows in the area.
