Brad Paisley and Jimmy Fallon Performed a Parody Country Song, "Balls in Your Mouth"
Their twangy tune about the BP oil spill will have you clutching your pearls.
Back in July 2013, Jimmy Fallon and Brad Paisley teamed up for a twangy tune about tar.
When the country star paid a visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, he gamely lent earnest vocals to what Fallon claimed was a "protest song" he'd written about the April 2010 BP oil spill. While Fallon's song did, in fact, raise awareness about the very real tar balls that littered Texas shorelines as a result, it also happened to serve as the inspiration for a double-entendre chorus.
"Three years later, tar balls are still washing up on the Gulf Coast. A few years back I actually wrote a protest song about the BP oil spill and all the tar balls. I've sung it every summer on the show, thinking that BP might finally get the message, but I guess they never will. So you know what? I give up," Fallon told the audience in July 2013, as they jeered his decision.

"So if you ever wanna hear it again you better find someone else to play it," Fallon claimed.
From offstage, a voice said, "I'll play it, Jimmy." That's when Paisley emerged from behind the curtain wearing a cowboy hat, an acoustic guitar in his hand. "If you're not going to play your protest song, I'll do it."
Paisley strummed his guitar and started singing the lyrics to Fallon's protest song: "The oil spill by BP has left tar balls all over the sea / So don't go swimming down in the south, unless you want...tar balls in your mouth."

Fallon joined in — now donning a black cowboy hat and guitar — to perform "Balls In Your Mouth" with Paisley, as they repeated the jaw-dropping title over and over again. The two crooning cowboys even ventured up into the crowd to lead an audience sing-along.

Paisley isn't the only protest song partner Fallon has enlisted to help him sing "Balls In Your Mouth" over the years. Eddie Vedder, Florence and the Machine's Florence Welch, and Russell Crowe, have all had the privilege of performing the number.
And Paisley eventually sang another funny parody song at Fallon's behest. During an August 2018 Tonight Show visit he debuted an unreleased love song called "First Cousins." And in December 2023, Paisley sang the original he wrote for his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, about the key to marital harmony: putting the toilet seat down.
