Susan Boyle doesn't need a backup track to sound like an angel.

How to Watch

Watch the Season 20 premiere of America's Got Talent on Tuesday, May 27 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock

In 2009, shortly after her Britain's Got Talent Audition went viral, Boyle appeared on CNN's Larry King Live to show off her vocal talents yet again. During her appearance, she sang a stunning, a cappella rendition of "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion, clearly impressing Piers Morgan, who was featured in Boyle's CNN interview segment.

New Susan Boyle projects are on the horizon! The 64-year-old returned to Instagram in April 2025 after a two-year hiatus and announced she's making her professional return.

"Today’s a special day — it’s my birthday," Boyle wrote on Instagram April 1, 2025. "But I’ve got something exciting to share… I’m back and working on some wonderful new projects that I can’t wait for you to hear about! More news will be coming very soon, but I just wanted to say how much I’ve missed you all. Your support means the world to me and I’m more determined and excited than ever."

"Feeling pretty in pink 💕🌸 Had the loveliest day wearing this beautiful suit for a recent photoshoot," Boyle captioned a glamorous picture of herself posted to Instagram April 10, 2025. "Who knew modelling could be such fun? Maybe it’s time to add style icon to the CV!! Singing and striking a pose!"

Susan Boyle appears on NBC News' "Today" show.

What to know about "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion

Written by James Horner and famously recorded by Dion as the theme song for the hit 1997 film Titanic, "My Heat Will Go On" reached the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was the best-selling single of 1998 (per MTV). The song also went on to win Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

In an interview with Billboard, Horner described the experience of listening to Dion record the song. “It was just electrifying. She was singing like her life depended on it,” he said.

Fun fact: The vocals to "My Heart Will Go On" were recorded in one take.

"Near, far, wherever you are," Dion sings on the track. "I believe that the heart does go on. Once more, you open the door. And you're here in my heart. And my heart will go on and on."

And at the end, Dion wails, "You're here, there's nothing I fear. And I know that my heart will go on. We'll stay forever this way. You are safe in my heart and my heart will go on and on."

The song has not only become synonymous with the movie Titanic, it's a pinnacle of '90s pop culture at large. The track epitomizes a very specific moment in time — and, perhaps most importantly, immortalizes the heartthrob status of Leonardo DiCaprio. It's become a karaoke staple and wedding song favorite.
