Chrissy Metz's Next TV Show Sounds So Good—This Is Us Fans, Take Note
We missed seeing her on our screens!
Chrissy Metz is coming back to NBCU with another family drama. Per Deadline, the This Is Us star is set to be a main character in a new show titled Help Me Rhonda, which she will also executive produce.
Based on a novel titled 2 Sisters Detective Agency by James Patterson and Candice Fox, the plot of Help Me Rhonda centers around a public defender (played by Metz) who takes over her late father’s private detective agency with her younger sister, and they discover some unsettling truths about his life along the way.
“Can’t wait to let these beautiful Birds fly! Excited to traverse this wild world and grateful to everyone involved who are making it possible,” Metz posted enthusiastically on her Instagram page, to which her former co-star Mandy Moore commented “Yayayaya, @chrissymetz!! Can’t wait to watch you shine.” “OH YEAH!” Chris Sullivan also chimed in with support.
Metz isn’t the only This Is Us alumni who has been keeping busy with some exciting new projects. Mandy Moore will also act in and executive produce a new series titled Twin Flames, collaborating with This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger again. Meanwhile, Milo Ventimiglia is set to have a lead role in the upcoming show The Company You Keep, while Justin Hartley will star in a new series titled The Never Game.
Chrissy Metz was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2017 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Kate Pearson in This Is Us. To see why, watch every episode of This Is Us on NBC now.
