On December 2, Saturday Night Live returns after a break for Thanksgiving, and an SNL Thanksgiving special on Wednesday, November 22. We're nearly halfway through Season 49 of SNL, and as we collectively careen toward the holiday season, the show has a true gift of a Host for its first December show.

SNL's next Host is an Academy Award-winning actress, a nimble comedic performer, and she happens to be the first woman to host this season. Like her colleague Scarlett Johansson, she met her husband on the set of Saturday Night Live. And after the December 5 episode, she'll share another thing in common with Johansson: She'll become a five-time SNL Host

Stone is currently starring in the Showtime series The Curse with Nathan Fielder, and the Yorgos Lanthimos film Poor Things, out on December 8. Nominated for an Academy Award three times, she won Best Film Actress in a Leading Role in 2017 for La La Land. 

In 2020, Stone founded the production company Fruit Tree with husband Dave McCary, who was a writer and segment director for SNL from 2014-2022.

Singer-songwriter Kahan's third studio album, Stick Season (We'll All Be Here Forever), an expanded version of 2022's Stick Season, was released on June 9, 2023. 

Kahan has collaborated with artists including Kacey Musgraves, Post Malone, and Hozier, and is currently on a world tour through July 2024. It will be Kahan's first time performing on the SNL stage.
