Found Star Shanola Hampton Still Has Close Friendship with Jeremy Allen White: See Pics
Found’s Shanola Hampton once playfully referred to Jeremy Allen White, star of The Bear, as her “brother.”
Shameless’ long run may have come to end in 2021, but its stars Shanola Hampton and Jeremy Allen White have kept their friendship going strong.
Hampton, who once deemed White her honorary “brother,” was spotted with White last week at The Art of Elysium Celebrates Shanola Hampton event in Los Angeles.
Hampton — who plays the leader of a crisis management firm dedicated to bringing home the missing in NBC’s new drama Found — had her arm wrapped around White as they happily posed with fellow Shameless stars Steve Howey and Emma Kenney.
Hampton was being honored at the event for her decades-long support of The Art of Elysium, an organization dedicated to bringing social change through art, according to Los Angeles Wire, and her former co-stars were all too happy to show her support.
Are Shanola Hampton and Jeremy Allen White still friends?
The friendship between Hampton and White, who currently stars as the crush-worthy chef on The Bear, can be traced back more than a decade to their start on Shameless.
In the series, which ran from January 2011 to April 2021, White took on the role of Phillip “Lip” Gallagher, the smart yet reckless oldest son in the dysfunctional Gallagher family. Hampton played the Gallaghers’ fiery neighbor and friend Veronica Fisher. The family may have been unconventional as they battled poverty, alcoholism, and abuse, but they were staunchly committed to one another. That tight bond transferred over to the cast of the beloved series.

Emmy Rossum, who played Fiona, the oldest Gallagher sibling and mother figure to the clan, penned an emotional post about the deep bond among the cast as she was leaving the show in 2018.
“See, in real life, unlike Fiona, I’m an only child. I never had a big family. Being ensconced in that messy Gallagher family love is something I’d always dreamed of. But even off set, it feels real,” she wrote of the family they created.
Rossum reminisced about teaching Kenney to shave her legs, watching as Ethan Cutkosky learned to drive, and having White, Hampton, Joan Cusack, and William H. Macy dance at her wedding.
“It really feels like family,” she wrote of her castmates.
Hampton has been quick to voice the same feelings. More than nine years ago, she playfully referred to White as her “brother” on Instagram when he graciously agreed to be her stand-in for the ALS ice bucket challenge.
Over the years, the friendship has continued to blossom. She happily posed again with White in 2017 for a surprise 40th birthday party for Howey, her onscreen husband. (Hampton’s real-life husband is Daren Dukes).
The long-time friends stood arm and arm once again in May 2021 as they reunited with their costars, not long after the iconic series wrapped up.
“Nothing like seeing the Fam!” Hampton wrote on Instagram along with the candid snap of the reunion.
White confessed last year to GQ that Shameless was a fixture in his life for so long, it became somewhat difficult for him to separate from the show.
“I love Shameless so much. I love everybody that was a part of it, and the experience was incredible,” he said. “But I’m not sure if shows are meant to go that long.”
Where is Shanola Hampton Today?
These days, White has once again found his groove, starring in The Bear. Hampton has also found a new home on the set of Found. She plays Gabi Mosely, a heroic champion champion of the missing on the new NBC crime drama. Gabi and her crisis management team track down the missing by any means necessary.
While each may have found new success since their days on Shameless, Hampton and White’s friendship off-screen continues to thrive.
