NBC's The Americas will reach new heights when the Tom Hanks-narrated docu-series returns this Sunday, ascending the world’s second-highest mountain range for premium peak views from atop South America’s majestic Andes mountains.

How to Watch

Watch The Americas Sundays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Like all episodes in the epic 10-part nature series, “The Andes” comes from BAFTA-winning producer Mike Gunton (Dynasties, Life, Planet Earth II) and features a bespoke musical score from Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer (not to mention that smooth narration from fellow Oscar winner Hanks).

This week’s episode marks the seventh in the series, leaving three more new episodes remaining before The Americas concludes on Sunday, April 13. Keep scrolling below to find out all you need to know to catch The Americas this Sunday on NBC — plus how to stream the series anytime!

Is The Americas new tonight? (Sunday, March 23)

Indeed it is! “The Andes” is The Americas’ all-new episode this week, premiering Sunday, March 23 on NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET. Be sure to tune in early if you want to catch a double dose of nature this weekend, as “The Frozen North” — the 5th episode in the hour-long series — airs at 7:00 p.m. ET, immediately before “The Andes.”

What is the new episode of The Americas, "The Andes," about?

As its title suggests, “The Andes” is all about the long and slender South American mountain chain that spans an impressive 5,000 miles, punctuated by a series of breathtaking 20,000-foot peaks as it hugs the continent’s western edge. In addition to expansive high-resolution glimpses at the range’s spectacular mountain terrain, expect Hanks to dial in on the region’s distinctive native flora and fauna.

“[B]aby bears make treacherous descents, rare hummingbirds compete for mates, frogs freeze and revive, and lizards battle for territory — all in a land of extremes, from glaciers to deserts,” reads the episode’s synopsis, all the better, of course, to emphasize the “diverse ecosystems and remarkable wildlife that inhabit the Andes.”

How can you watch The Americas?

It’s easy to watch new episodes of The Americas on NBC: Just tune in weekly at 8 p.m. ET every Sunday from now until the series’ April 13 conclusion. All new episodes of The Americas are available to stream on Peacock the very next day after their NBC premiere, which means you can catch up on the complete series (so far) at your leisure!

Here’s the remaining episode breakdown for the final four installments of The Americas:

"The Andes" — airing on NBC Sunday, March 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT
"The Caribbean" — airing on NBC Sunday, March 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT
“The West Coast” — airing on NBC Sunday, April 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT
“Patagonia" — airing on NBC Sunday, April 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT
