October has been a month of mutual love among talk show hosts: Seth Meyers paid Jimmy Fallon a visit on October 11, and the following week, Kelly Clarkson showed up on Late Night with Seth Meyers to rave about moving The Kelly Clarkson Show to New York. On Late Night's October 23 episode, comedian and Last Week Tonight Host John Oliver was the latest colleague to pop by for a catchup session.

How to Watch

Watch Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC weeknights at 12:35/11:35c and next day on Peacock.

During Oliver's visit, Oliver and Myers teased their upcoming stand-up comedy dates—specifically, their upcoming show together on December 31.

"We're going to be spending New Year's Eve together," Meyers said to Oliver. "We're gonna be doing standup in Las Vegas."

"Yeah we are," laughed Oliver.

"And you've noticed that it's very funny, the room they have us doing stand-up in," Meyers said.

Too small? Too drafty? Nope. "It's Adele's theater," Oliver said. The two friends are performing at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where Adele holds her Weekends with Adele residency.

"And for one night only, Adele ain't gonna be there," Oliver continued, "and I hope that's made VERY to the people that turn up to that theater." Meyers joked that the sole thing Oliver and Adele have in common is "British."

Oliver shared that he's delighted to be working the December 31 show, where they'll be joined by opening act Brooks Wheelan. "I hate New Year's as an evening—hate it—and so now I do standup, which I love," Oliver said. "And they cancel each other out. It's great."

In addition to their New Year's show, Oliver and Meyers will kick off a Sunday night residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City come 2024.
