Kelly Clarkson's Cover of 'Breathe Again' by Toni Braxton Will Melt Your Heart
This Kellyoke reminds us why we fell in love with Kelly Clarkson's incredible vocals in the first place.
It looks like our favorite songstress has done it again: During the May 2nd episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Host Kelly Clarkson delivered another stellar Kellyoke performance we won’t soon forget.
The American Song Contest Host showed off her soulful side and epic range by covering Toni Braxton’s “Breathe Again." This 1993 hit from Braxton’s self-titled album fit Clarkson’s voice like a glove, and her rendition was both powerful and heartfelt.
Clarkson rang in her 40th birthday on April 24th and recently opened up to Access Hollywood about the pressure associated with such a huge milestone.
"There's so much pressure put on it because it's my big 4-0," she said. "So I'm doing, like, a chill dinner just because I only have [Sunday] night off—my birthday—and then going hiking with some friends.”
Clarkson also took a moment to reflect on all the hard work and sacrifice that's helped her achieve her goals, not to mention how excited she is to take her first summer off in over two decades.
“...I'm really celebrating my summer," said Clarkson. "This is my first summer I've taken off since I was 16 years old, 'cause musicians always tour and they're always working during the summer...I'm 'gonna be just at my ranch just chilling, and I'm celebrating 40 all summer long. I'm celebrating myself."
The Emmy Award winner also received an extra special birthday delivery from her longtime friend and fellow American Song Contest Host, Snoop Dogg.
"He sent me flowers," Clarkson told Entertainment Tonight. "I got home, and my daughter was like, 'Ooh who are these from?' And I was like, "That’s from Snoop.'" So thoughtful!
