Late Night White House Press Briefing: What Is Trump's Strategy for the Economy?

Martha Stewart is a woman of many talents. She’s an Emmy-winning television show host, homemaker extraordinaire, bestselling author, the star of NBC’s cooking competition series Yes, Chef!, and even helped her bestie Snoop Dogg with his new album. Oh, and she’s been known to plow her driveway after a snowstorm.

How to Watch

Watch the series premiere of Yes, Chef! on Monday, April 28 at 10/9c on NBC.

Martha Stewart says she’s “addicted” to snow plowing

After it snows at Stewart’s 152-acre farm in upstate New York, she’ll hop into her truck and get to work.

“I have a four-mile driveway. I live on a farm so there’s four miles of roads and I actually love [driving the snow plow truck],” Stewart revealed during a 2017 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. “It’s like flying an airplane. When you get into a truck with a plow, you can’t think of anything else, ‘cause you know … you don’t wanna hit anything. I’m dialed in, and I just plow for like four hours.”

In December 2020, Stewart shared an update on Instagram that she still very much enjoyed plowing her property. In fact, she’s “addicted” to it.

“I told you I was addicted to snow plowing. I spent almost three hours plowing just one mile of my four miles of roads here at the farm,” she captioned her post, which featured a video of her driving her smaller Polaris snow plow, adding that it “does a great job but it does not have window defrosters or a heater so I was almost frozen.”

“Plowing is such fun! Especially when it’s a beautiful day like today,” Stewart said in the video, reporting directly from her snow plow.

In February 2022, Stewart shared a fun TikTok video — set to “Bad to the Bone” by George Thorogood & The Destroyers — showing the massive property she has to clear. “Watch me plow!” she captioned the video.

Over the years, Stewart has shared several updates about plowing her farm, including in January 2025 when she wrote in Instagram that she got up at 6 a.m. to clear out the snow. “I love the job!!!!” the 83-year-old entrepreneur added.

Martha Stewart got stuck in the snow while she was plowing her driveway: “Darn!”

Stewart found herself in a bit of a plow pickle when she got stuck in the snow after a winter storm in February 2017. “I decided to plow now I am stuck darn!!!!!” she captioned a photo of herself in a pickup truck with a plow attached.

And when she visited Late Night later that year, Meyers asked about the predicament. “Are you embarrassed, does panic set in?” the SNL alum asked.

“No! No, it’s natural!” she said, confirming that she was indeed rescued and pulled out of the heavy snow. “It’s one of those things.”

“It’s not natural! This is a man made machine,” Meyers quipped, which made Stewart burst out in laughter.

Stewart added that getting stuck is sometimes just part of the job, and she does have some professionals who help her with the big task. Meyers then asked how her “plow guys” feel about her doing their job.

“They’re happy, probably,” she said. “Because they’re inside drinking hot coffee while I’m out plowing in the freezing cold.”
