Actress Millie Bobby Brown wasn't about to let the paparazzi spoil the surprise of her wedding dress.

How to Watch

Watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC weeknights at 11:35/10:35c and next day on Peacock

The Electric State star stopped by The Tonight Show on March 11, and Jimmy Fallon asked her about her May 2024 wedding to husband Jake Bongiovi. During the interview, Fallon shared an image from Brown and Bongiovi's gorgeous — and intimate — wedding, asking the actress, "I saw there was something that something with the dress might have been leaked?"

Brown recounted how leading up to the big day, she showed up for her "stressful" final dress fitting at a wedding dress boutique in New York — only to be greeted by a paparazzo standing outside the shop, waiting to capture some images of the actress' bridal outfit.

Millie Bobby Brown staged a fake wedding dress fitting ahead of nuptials with Jake Bongiovi

"So I went into the wedding dress fitting and I put my wedding dress on, and there was a big glass window. And I thought that she could see through it. So I was like, 'Oh, my gosh! She knows what my wedding dress looks like, and then Jake's going to see it,'" she recalled.

"I was so terrified. So I thought, 'Okay, I'm going to find a dress that's the complete opposite,' bedazzled, with gloves, and it was kind of a peachy tone," Brown continued. "I was like, 'I'm gonna walk out, and I'm going to start fake-crying, pretending that I found the gown.'"

"She got the whole thing, and it sold. Well, let me just tell you, right now... I tricked you," she gleefully said as the audience cheered.

Fallon played a video of Brown wearing the dazzling decoy dress in the shop, while looking in a giant mirror and dramatically exclaiming 'This is my dress!' — as the photographer can be seen outside, capturing the entire spurious scene.

"Wow! What great acting right there," said Fallon after the clip ended.

"It was the best of my career so far," joked Brown.

Brown's March 11 visit was her 10th appearance on The Tonight Show — her first being in 2016 — and she praised Fallon for making her feel so at ease all these years.

"I absolutely love, love this show. I feel so relaxed when I'm here, like, and that's because of you," the Stranger Things star told him. "You're just so good at your job, for making people feel so warm and welcome." Fallon showed her a photo of her first appearance.

Brown was only 12 years old during her first Tonight Show visit, where she showed off her rapping skills by performing "Monster" by Nicki Minaj.

"I was so, so scared," she confessed to Fallon. "I had to wrap a Nicki Minaj song... and I killed it."
