Rainn Wilson Reunites With Two Office Co-Stars For an Amazing Cause
Dwight, Angela, and Michael Scott are back together... for charity.
The Office is no stranger to charity causes. The infamous “Casino Night” from the Season 2 finale was meant to raise money to donate to charity (even if Toby nixed Michael’s idea to present a big check to actual Boy Scouts because “there’s gambling and alcohol, and it’s in our dangerous warehouse and it’s a school night… And, you know, Hooters is catering. You know, is that enough? Should I keep going?”) But, over the weekend three members of the cast reunited for a real-life charity cause.
Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Shrute on the much-loved NBC sitcom, is the co-founder of LIDE Haiti, a charity that seeks to help provide young girls in rural Haiti with education and support that will help set them up for a better future. Wilson recently hosted a fundraiser for the charity, and as he explained in an Instagram post on Sunday night, “some old friends” joined him — Steve Carell (Michael) and Angela Kinsey (Angela).
“Had an amazing time the other night with some old friends. Steve and @AngelaKinsey generously joined me and some guests, donors, and staff members to raise money for @LideHaiti and girls education.” he wrote.
“It wasn’t exactly a reenactment of the dinner party episode, but I did bring my babysitter and a teeny tiny flatscreen,” he continued. “Follow @LideHaiti and help spread the word about their incredible work!”
One would hope that the event wasn’t like the “Dinner Party” — one of the most cringeworthy (in a good way!) episodes of the entire series (and that’s saying something!)
Kinsey posted an Instagram after the event, too, saying she had an “awesome weekend catching up with Steve and @rainnwilson and learning about the amazing work the folks @lidehaiti and Rainn and his wife, Holly [Reinhorn] are doing.”
